KARMA - Queen Introduction Frame
« on: May 10, 2015, 09:38:29 pm »
Well, I thought we could try something new in the forum and see how it goes.

What is KARMA?

It is a random FREE give away to benefit the forum community.  It is also a way for members to give back to the forum community.   So I'm going to go first and we will see what follows.

I'm going to start by offering a Queen Introduction Frame -> http://robo.bushkillfarms.com/downloads/beekeeping/QueenIntroFrame.pdf
Some have found this to work really well in getting a laying worker hive queen right.
http://forum.beemaster.com/index.php/topic,38956.0.html
http://forum.beemaster.com/index.php/topic,23161.0.html
http://forum.beemaster.com/index.php/topic,17867.0.html

How it works:
  • To be eligible you must have made 20 post before May 10, 2015
  • To enter, you must reply to this post
  • Only one entry per person,  if you reply more than once, only the first reply will count
  • On or after June 1st, at a time of my choosing, I will use random.org to pick a winner.  It will go by "reply #" as defined by the forum.
  • I will contact the winner by Private Message and the winner has 24 hours to PM me back with their address
  • Must be US or Canadian resident.

Good Luck everyone!

Some ground rules for future Karmas if anyone is compelled to give back to the forum community.
  • Let's try to not have more than one Karma going at a time, so try to wait until previous Karma is complete
  • Giver of Karma covers shipping - lets not get into exchanging funds and the hassles and issues that can come along with that
  • Item does not need to be beekeeping related, but that is always a plus
  • Item does not need to be new, but should be in good shape and usable.  So dig out all those things you purchased and tried and now sits collecting dust

Please use this thread for Karma entry only.

Usage discussion of the queen introduction frame should be done in this thread.

Since I am admin, I won't play, but you Canadians play, and if you win, I'll pay the extra postage. Robo, if this reply wins, draw another number.

Thats an awesome idea, but I do also have a question;

To be eligible you must have made 20 post before May 10, 2013

I was one of the first folks to join here, and my join date is Dec 7th 2013...  Even Iddee is Dec 4th 2013.. so I dont think many folks are eligible?

and thanks Robo, for an excellent idea.

Even though I am not eligible, this a wonderful thing to do Rob.  The world needs lots of good karma.

My bad,  copy and pasted it and changed the day and not the year.   Fixed now, so you are all eligible.

I have seen similar devices, never used them always  thought it would be a good idea try. I would think nothing stifles laying workers then a laying queen.

I've recently thought about making one of these, so I'll throw my hat in the ring. Good luck, all.

This is a cool idea, as I always have to remove a frame if introducing a queen in the queen cage.  Last time the workers went crazy filling in the gap with comb.  Thanks Robo!

UPDATE:

The first random selected person was rcannon!

HOWEVER,
He did not respond to my PM within 24 hours as stated in the initial rules,  so a 2nd person has been randomly selected and has 24 hour to respond to my PM.

I'll keep you posted until we have a winner.....
