I'm up!  I'm up! Stop the bugleing!   No bee work today, other tasks not near as pleasant.   Ted

The sun just heaved itself into the sky, it's a cool 62 degrees, and my girls haven't yet wandered onto the porch.

I want to swap out my Freeman bottom board for a regular one today, so my girls don't have a pool of cold soapy water under them all Fall and Winter.

Perry says you slept in. It's 9:30 and his day is half done.

Jen says go back to bed, it's only 5:30 in the morning. At least wait until daylight.

Efmesh says he had a nice lunch, where have you been?

Honey's all bottled, but am finishing building the last 47 mediums I never got around to this spring. Too cold outside, although the first snow is almost gone. ;D

Well, I was up before ALL of you this morning and I have posts to prove it.    :P   I was the ONLY one on at 2am.
And, when I got home from work, it was in the upper 50s so I quickly ran out and fixed my moisture board problem on the hives in the back yard.

Up @ 6, went to work, but I was thinking about bees, does that count? :)

Briefly stopped @ the bee yard on way home @ 4pm, 31 degrees F. Keep checking how many dead bees @ each entrance, not sure how some will survive will all the bee losses! Down to 24.

Ummm.....    Revele??

There is a .45 beside my bed.   Bugle goes off .45 goes off..  woke up too many mornings to that sound, and I can honestly and truthfully say, it is NOT one of the things I miss.

Although... looking back...   I think that may have had a lot to do with how the night before was spent..   :P

Off to Maine..  talk to yall after the first of the year.. going to spend the holidays with my girl.

Finally have snow that stayed!  Will not be heading out today.  Up here it seems people forget how to drive immediately after the first snowfall...

Cold and rainy for the last three days (40s to 50s), sunny and mid-70s today.  Expect light freeze on Thursday, then back into the 70s by the weekend.

My poor bees are more confused than I am!

Cold and flurries here today
We had the same here Riverrat.  Winter is finally here.

Going automobile shopping tomorrow afternoon.  A 17 yr old kid made a left hand turn right in front of me Tuesday night.  I am confident the damages on my old Buick far exceed the value of the car.  This time I want a small pick up.  I have to be able to move bees around, don't you know!

Windy here, with cooler weather on the way.  We will be loading the RV and heading for Austin in a few minutes.  I'm hoping I don't get blown off the road!

Probably no freeze tonight, after all.  As of now the low is predicted to be 34, with no more threat of freeze for the next week.  Bees and tomatoes should be OK until we get back.
