Some of the tractors listed on tractor house sales site are crazy expensive. My brother just bought a 1963 Massey Ferguson 65 diesel that looks good, cheaper than he can have the injection pump and injectors rebuilt for his original 65.
Now he has a running tractor and one for parts. I will tell you that old tractor collecting has gotten pricey in the last 10 years. People go to those old tractor shows and their once $50.00 fence row queen with a seized engine is now $1000.00.

Thanks guys for the links.  I've been traveling checking out tractors for the past two mornings and bailing all evenings.  It's raining after I finished, needed it.

Been looking at 5-6 thousand fords/newhollands for a backup/feeding tractor. This tractor looking sure does eat up a lot of time.

Fence row queen. Has been pulled out of the way into a fence row when it quit running, Has sat there at least 5 years with no cover on the exhaust and transmission shifter boot shot.
Get a seized engine full of rust and nuts mice stored in there and a transmission full of water, parts robbed off for other tractors too.

There must be something I'm missing here. The price has now dropped to $1350! A rebuilt engine, and still no one is biting?

If you ever want a tractor, you better get over there and check it out. If he isn't lying, it's a 3500 USD tractor.

The price is getting closer to what it would fetch here in Michigan.
About 1200 US dollars here.

It may be worth my time to travel to Michigan and buy me an old diesel Ford.  I wonder what the shipping for approximately 1,400 miles would be?

I think my friend paid 3500 to have a Ford 7000 and a case back hoe front loader tractor shipped to Washington.

I have found those 8N and 9Ns sell for less in country with big ag, more in hill country as they are very agile in rough terrain. They are perfect for hobby farms and truck farm operations. I have used them around here to mow and rake hay in small fields. They run on gas and I'm more inclined to diesel, but for what they are they are a very good buy.

I saw a red Ferguson for sale for $2,200.00.  It look good and had good paint.  That's all I know about the tractor, as I did not stop and look at it.

Red Fergusons came about as a result of the merger with Massey Harris in 1953 and still only had the Ferguson name which happened some time around 1957 when they became Massey Ferguson.

Ad says gas tank needs cleaned.. so is it actually running?   I would find out.
I would have to have 2K minimum before I would consider selling my 1943 Ferguson.. Un restored, as is.. I cut the upper fields with it about every two weeks... NEW rear rubber and original front rubber that is falling off the cords... Not that I care where I use it, so long as they still hold air...

I just saw a Ford 1100 with a shredder attached to it for sale.  I was too busy to stop and look, but I may go by and pick it up.  It looks like it would fit in the back of my Escalade, pun intended, but it is tiny.  It appeared to have good paint and tires.  How much is it worth?
