I copied Iddee
« on: July 01, 2016, 07:01:50 pm »
When I visited Iddee I saw that he had one of these on his truck. It made a lot of sense so I started watching on kijiji for one and found one locally for $150!  Sure is handy, and now someone else can actually sit in the truck besides me.

Perry I would hate for you have your stuff stolen.  So it may be better for you to load that box into to that neat looking trailer and bring it to me.  I'll even meet you half way and cover your gas.  Nice tool box and trailer!

Hey Dunkel, I'll make you a deal. You drive up here and you can have that trailer, and you don't have to pay me a cent!
Now the neighbour across the street from my truck might not like it too much, but if you're quick he'll never figure it out.
Actually, I take that back, he probably will figure it out. He was the former Police Chief for the Town of Wolfville, and is now in management with the RCMP!
No, I'm not kidding!

That sounds tempting for some reason  Perry.  The always get there man part is holding me off :o But boy that little trailer hooked onto the back of that truck sure would be a cute package hauling some hives around.  If it lasts to December you guys are safe for a while.  I'm not heading north with that snow

Amazes me how a tiny little honey bee and a dusting of snow can make grown men cry like little girls. Put the to together if possible and some men would go stark raving mad.

Not afraid of snow, I'd just feel bad not helping out with the removal.   Hard to find little trailers under the snow ;) Some men are already that way, and a few ladies I know

YUP, I did too...    Got my Dually, it has a tool box on it, but the 489 big block was a bit much to putter around on the back roads to tend hives, so I bought a 300 dollar ranger with working 4x4 and scrounged a free tool box for it..

I need to get the AC working, and fix a couple other little things, but it runs and drives, and as I said the 4x4 works, so on those wet days I need to get to the hives I CAN!   the best part is how much less gas it uses. Second benefit... how easy it is to reach over the bed to grab things...   Tool box needs new struts to hold the lid open.. use  a pair of vice grips to keep it open for now!

I can't believe anyone found a functioning four-wheel drive truck for less that two thousand bucks.  In my area a clunker, that will start and has four-wheel drive will bring two grand from hunters.  In September, I see all these old clunkers sitting on the side of the road for three to four grand.  Three hundred bucks is a steal.  Anyway, I'm glad you found it as it looks to service your needs perfectly.

$300 is what the tool boxes fetch up here, so figuring that, you got the truck for free! :) ;D :D

Agreed Apis... I'll wait until the wife finally buys a place up there to do that...    They are also more strict on rust etc in Maine. have to have inspection stickers and cover the rust holes etc..   Here, it needs a muffler and the lights have to work... OK, doesnt really need a muffler if the Catalytic converter is still there, it quiets things down enough :P

Tool box was actually free.  Friend had it laying in the yard, asked how much he wanted for it and told me if I take it NOW and get it OUT of his yard it was free...   Little ford leaks oil and has a multitude of other problems, but none that stop it from running or driving, and out here on the back roads thats all I need.   The big debate in my life at the moment... is do I spend 500 dollars for new tires or keep running the ones on it till the cords are hanging out? (Then drive it a bit more)
