Hi from Manitoba
« on: June 28, 2016, 12:28:57 am »
Hi, I just got 4 nucs about a month ago. They seem to be doing alright, at the edge of a canola field.
I have a friend with an extractor, so with any luck I will have a few hives to split next spring.

Welcome. Glad to see you posting. Hope you enjoy it here and maybe even get a tip or two now and then.

Thanks Chip I was raised several hours north of you just over the border in Cartwright, MB. I wired ready to move homes, some of which went into ND.

You're in a good place for honey production.  The canola fields are very important to Canadian beekeepers.  Used to be here but now it's mostly corn and soybeans.  Commodity hits the past couple of years have diversified agriculture a bit but not in very many bee friendly ways.  This is a great forum with many good knowledgeable folks willing to help.
