I've looked at them. I think the concept is excellent, and the technology too, but it's cost prohibitive.
For those who are technically inclined you could probably make something similar fairly easily with the new Raspberry Pi Zero ($5USD)
Update: I was just browsing through their site, they have an upcoming model that will handle hive-weight. Now THAT would be interesting if they can keep the costs down.
