Contaminating A Pollen Plugged Frame Experiment ~ Results For Apis
« on: September 26, 2015, 05:29:16 pm »
Hi Apis, a lot of posts back, I asked the question on what to do with all of my surplus plugged pollen frames. I have about 20. I know I can save them for spring. But I could also be using some of them now.

You suggested to contaminate the pollen by spraying it with water, not to dripping, but to a good saturation of water, then place back in the hive to see if the bees will then clean out the pollen. IT WORKED!  ;D

The first two pics are of the plugged frames, the next two frames are of the unplugged frames. They :D:D: have a bit more to go tho, and it took about 3 weeks to get them unplugged and usable again.

Apis! You are my hero for today ;) ;) ;)
